The William Brooks PTA is happy to host the annual TALENT & ART SHOW where the Brooks Bears can show off their creativity by performing in the talent show or by displaying their artwork.

Important Dates​
​

PERFORMANCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, February 14th

EMCEE/ TECH TEAM (5th graders only) REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, February 14th

AUDITIONS: Wednesday, February 26th 3:15-5:30 pm

  • Acts do NOT need to be polished or perfected for the audition. No acts will be cut.

ART SHOW ENTRY and ARTWORK DROPOFF: Monday, March 24th
MANDATORY REHEARSAL: Thursday, March 27th 3:15-6:00 pm
SHOW TIMES: Friday, March 28th 

  • school assembly time TBA

  • evening performance 5:00-7:00pm

**Please note the end times are estimated and will depend on the number of acts, cooperation of the kids, and how many parent volunteers are helping.

Register to Perform by February 14

Are you ready to take your talent to the stage? Register a solo or group act and share your talent with the Brooks community! The Brooks Bears can't wait to cheer you on! Don't have a polished act yet? Don't worry! Audition with a sample of what you intend to do on the big day. You then have over a month to perfect your act. Need ideas? Register to Emcee by February 14

5th graders only

Would you like to help host the show? Emcees take the mic in-between acts, entertaining the audience with a few short lines and introducing acts while performers prepare to take the stage. Several emcees will take turns at the mic throughout the talent show. Click HERE ​to review the participation details and register. 

Register to be on the Tech Team by February 14

5th graders only

Are you interested in working behind the scenes, helping to make the sound and set changes and performance line-up run smoothly? If so, sign up to be on the Tech Team! Click HERE ​to review the participation details and register. 

Enter Artwork by March 24

Is creating art your talent? Students may register to display artwork at the Talent & Art Showcase. The deadline to "register" is the same day that pieces are due to be dropped off: Monday, March 24th.  Enter the art showcase by completing the Art Showcase Entry Form and returning it along with your artwork submission(s) to the front office by Monday, March 24th.  Click HERE ​to review the participation details.

Need Ideas?

 

For performers in the Talent Show, we welcome “outside the box” performance ideas! You can perform as an individual or in a group. Some examples are: 

  • Skit

  • Comedic set

  • Martial arts 

  • Gymnastics 

  • Play an instrument

  • Monologue

  • Juggling/ball tricks

  • Magic tricks

  • Singing 

  • Dancing

For artists displaying artwork at the Talent Show, feel free to use any type of medium you want! Some examples are: 

  • Paint

  • Crayon

  • Pen 

  • Recycled/upcycled art

  • Woodworking / wood sculpture

  • 3D printed art

  • Photography

  • Masks

  • Fabric and fiber arts

  • Origami 

  • Multimedia collage or sculpture
